These pads are made in the same way as LANACare's traditional Softline Nursing Pads, yet with an oval shape, rather than round.  Although there has always been a larger Teardrop shaped option, we have a limited supply of oval-shaped pads in smaller sizes. 

The oval shape of the pads helps give coverage over the area of the breast closer to the armpit.  Many women have a tendency to develop plugged ducts in this area.   Generations of Scandinavian midwives have recommended keeping breasts warm to help prevent plugged ducts.  Though there are no scientific studies to endorse this, many women who've experienced problems with repetitive have reported that the warmth of the wool has helped with this issue.
