About Us
Danish Woolen Delight is a home-based business, located in Vermont. The company was started by a nurse-midwife/lactation consultant. American-born, yet living and working in Sweden during the 90’s, the owner became familiar with LANACare organic wool products, made by a Danish nurse. Impressed with the woolen nursing pads, which provided so many benefits for breastfeeding mothers, she decided to import the products to the US when her family relocated to Vermont.
To respond to customers’ requests for high quality wool long-underwear for the entire family, Danish Woolen Delight added Swiss HOCOSA organic merino wool & wool-silk long-underwear from Switzerland. HOCOSA woolens, as well as LANACare, carry the coveted European KbT-certification for organic wool products. KbT Certification guarantees that the products are free of chemicals & pesticides, and that high standards in working conditions are met along every step of the way, including the handling of the sheep.
Wanting to find a high-quality organic cotton line, which complemented the other product lines, they discovered Swedish GEGGAMOJA. The cotton used in the clothing is GOTS-certified. Owned by two sisters, the product line is designed for comfort & practicality, and to handle the carefree rough & tumbling play of their own young kids. Their aim is to produce products as responsibly and sustainably as possible.
Danish Woolen Delight is proud to promote products which contribute to the health & well-being of those who use them, of those who produce them, and, ultimately, to the well-being of our Mother Earth!
The company is currently run by the original owner and her husband.
